There's nothing quite like a London wedding

To say that a London wedding is a real status symbol sounds like a bit of a cliche, doesnt it? Particularly if you live in or nearby to London. But to everybody else London always has been and always will be one of the greatest cities in the world. Just look at what London has to offer - culture, history, fashion, design and trend setting from one of the world's leading financial centres. Then there's Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the London Eye, the red buses, the black cabs, the theatres, the sports and entertainment venues and the art galleries. Wimbledon, Wembley and Lord's are all in London. And Ascot, Windsor and Henley are just down the road. We could go on because the list is endless.

How can Wedding Car Hire London help you?

We're here to help you find a wedding car, not sell you one

Well, let's face it - it's a bit of a jungle out there when it comes to finding your perfect wedding car in London, don't you think? So what we've done is help you along the way a little bit. As we said, we don't have wedding cars for hire in London ourselves but we can really help when it comes to finding them. We've laid out below a sound way forward to help you make a good decision.

Go straight to our Enquiry Form

If you've already thought everything through and are ready for some quotes you can go straight to our online enquiry form here...

It's good to know which types of wedding cars London has to offer

It might be that you're fixed on a vintage car or classic car for yourself but then see that you can hire a limo for the bridesmaids or a hen night, for example. The enquiry form shows you all possible categories.

Then there's availabilty in your area

Whether you're in North London, South London, East London, West London or Central London, all you need to do is take a couple of minutes to complete our enquiry form to see if the car you want is available near you.

Choosing the right wedding car hire company for you

Wedding Car Hire London really wants to help you achieve this. Our idea is that you find several independent companies offering you what you want in your area. Then you can look their websites up, talk to them or maybe even visit them so that you're really sure before you commit. At the end of the day that car will be part of all those memories on your wedding day.

The wedding ceremony

Before you start thinking about wedding cars in London, though, it's better if you know what type of wedding ceremony you're having. If it's a church, London can illustrate many beautiful examples including Christ Church Spitalfields in East London, St Bartholomew the Great in the City of London, St Gabriel's in Pimlico, St Mary Le Strand in Holborn and St Peter's in Notting Hill. If it's a register office or civil ceremony there are also lots of venues including Croydon, Ealing, Enfield, Greenwich and Islington. If it's an Asian wedding there are plenty of mosques and temples in the city.

The wedding venue

The second thing to consider before you start looking for wedding cars in London is the venue. And London has many some very unusual settings such as 30 St Mary Axe in Aldgate, Greenwich Yacht Club, HMS President on Victoria Embankment, Kenwood House in Hampstead, Parkstead House in Roehampton and The RSA in Covent Garden.

The wedding date

Once you've chosen the date you can get an accurate idea of availabilty. It's not uncommon for wedding cars to be booked up a year in advance, particularly on the most popular summer Saturdays.

It's exhausting when you go through it all, isn't it? When you know the answers to these questions, though, it should focus your mind on exactly what you're looking for. Some interesting facts about London

Did you know that The Tube carries around one billion passengers each year which is more than the population of Australia every day? A London cabbie has to know all 25,000 streets within a six-mile radius of Trafalgar Square along with all buildings of interest (theatres, schools, restaurants etc) in that area. The "knowledge" takes around four years to learn. Anything less than three and you're considered to be a genius! The average speed of a car driving through Central London is 10.2 mph (16.3 km/h) compared to 11.1 mph on a bike! London is the largest city in Europe, with a population of over 7.2 million and over 300 languages spoken daily by London school pupils. Inner London has the highest average salary of any European city.

There are many wonderful buildings in London, each with it's own bit of history. For example, Marble Arch was originally built to be the gateway to Buckingham Palace but was moved in 1851. There are three small offices inside which were used as a police station until 1950. Britain's first supermarket opened in Earls Court in 1951. Back in the forties a flock of starlings landed on the minute hand of Big Ben's clock, causing the London landmark to show the wrong time. Big Ben is actually the name of the bell, not the tower or the clock. There are currently nearly 50,000 wild parakeets flying around London. London has over 40 Michelin-star restaurants, over twice as many as Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland combined.
